“One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a Little Black Dress.” – Karl Lagerfeld. I agree with this, but I also believe you can never go wrong with a bodycon.
A bodycon is one of the most versatile pieces of clothing in your closet. It is flattering for almost every body type, and it can be dressed up for work and church and then accessorised for a date night.
Here is how:
Traditional fit
A bodycon dress accentuates a woman’s curves. Wearing it with pumps or strappy sandals and adding a clutch can easily make it the ideal outfit for a date and girls’ night. While they are form-fitting, they are not necessarily tight, giving you comfort and sometimes making you feel like you are wearing nothing. Plus, it takes minimal to no ironing for women on the go.
Trailblazer
For a more corporate look or to transform it from day to night, you can grab a blazer or a short kimono (If your office allows you to be a bit creative) over it to wear to your nine-to-five. This will keep you looking corporate chic. Then, grab on a pair of pumps, wear your favourite statement necklace and small earrings, and you will be ready for the day. Be the boss feel sexy doing it, and look stunning yet professional.
Top it off.
This is one of my favourite ways to wear my bodycons – as a top. Because it is a dress, you do not have to worry about crumpling at the waist. It gives the same effect as a body suit without the uncomfortable wedgy, the shifting or pulling and the snapping every time you go to the restroom. A slip is something very few women wear nowadays. Still, with these curvaceous dresses, you never have to worry about the underwear or panty line printing underneath those fabrics that betray us under flashing lights after you checked at home and everything seemed to fit in the right places. They are close enough to be worn under a straight skirt and stable enough under a flair or maxi skirt. Where you put it, is where it stays.
So while Karl Lagerfeld is right, “One is never over-dressed or under-dressed with a Little Black Dress.” I have quite a few myself. A woman’s closet is never complete without a bodycon, especially a black one; you can get many looks with that one dress. XOXO!
